Rachael Langerman
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP-BC
Meet Rachael
Rachael provides individualized mental health services to the patients of Anchorage and surrounding communities. Rachael can see patients remotely (if appropriate) after patients establish care with her in Anchorage. She has experience in pediatrics, adolescence, as well as adult and geriatric patient care and is accepting new adult and pediatric patients.
Rachael enjoys helping patients and families navigate mental health issues and become as successful as they can be. She assists patients and families in improving their mental illness with medication management. She views mental health medications as a tool in the toolbox. When you build a house, you never use one tool. You use many tools. To achieve the best mental health outcome, it is done alongside other modalities such as therapy.
Rachael has a passion for helping patients and families because her family has been affected by mental illness. As a mother of a patient who has Autism, she is acutely aware of the effects, not only on the patient but also on the family. Her goal is to provide comprehensive care to the family as a family unit, not simply the patient. Rachael grew up in Alaska and now lives here with her husband and five children. Rachael and her family enjoy summer baseball, camping in the summer, biking, and hiking. Rachael and her husband stay active with kids' sports and outdoor activities within Alaska.
